Obiano transferred from Lagos to Abuja custody — EFCC Spokesman
The immediate past governor of Anambra state, Willie Obiano has been transferred from the Lagos custody of the Economic Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) to Abuja.
This was disclosed by the anti-graft agency’s spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, on Friday.
Disputing rumours that the ex-governor has been released, Uwujaren said; “He’s still with the commission. He was even transferred from Lagos to Abuja this morning”.
EFCC, on Thursday, arrested Mr Willie Obiano, at the Lagos airport at about few hous after he handed over government to Charles Soludo.
The arrest according to some sources was to prevent the ex-governor from fleeing Nigeria to Houston Texas in the USA.

The EFCC had last year placed Obiano on a watch list. His administration at the time described the move as laughable.
Obiano has never been indicted in any corruption since he assumed office in 2013.
However, some reports claimed he was arrested for allegedly mismanaging over N17bn Paris Club refund and security vote.
He is also reportedly being probed over some suspicious projects, including the Umueri International Airport project whose cost was believed to be inflated.
