PHOTO: Buni visits Buhari in London
The National Chairman of the Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) of the All Progressive Congress, Mai Mala Buni, on Wednesday, visited President Muhammadu Buhari in London.
A tweet by the Personal Assistant on Digital and New Media to President Buhari reads; “Buhari earlier today, met with Chairman of the APC caretaker/extraordinary convention planning committee (CECPC), Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State”.
Recall, Buni was purportedly overthrown in a Palace Coup headed by Niger state governor, Abubakar Sani Bello.
NewsWireNGR on Tuesday gathered that allies of the Yobe governor have retaken the National Secretariat of the party.
In a leaked letter, Buni wanted to return as the Chairman of the APC CECPC.
Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State had earlier disclosed that although Buni willingly transmitted power to Bello, they soon discovered that Buni’s committee had no plan of conducting the March 26 convention but was making secret moves to postpone it on the strength of a court injunction.
The APC national convention is scheduled to hold March 26 at Eagle Square in Abuja.
