Failed Palace Coup: Buni’s allies retake APC National Secretariat

Allies of Governor Mai Mala Buni, have reclaimed control of the National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday.

This is following a purported palace coup by opposing factions led by the Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello.

Bello on March 7 arrived at the APC National Working Committee NWC Hall and parked his official vehicle at the designated parking lot of the “National Chairman”.

The latest move by the allies Buni, the National Chairman of the Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) according to sources was in preparation for the return of the governor of Yobe state into the country.

The National Secretary of the CECPC, Senator John James Akpanudoedehe who has been away from the secretariat was on hand on Tuesday accompanied by the Kogi state chairman of the party, Abdullahi Bello, and some aides of Governor Buni.
