1. Nigeria inflation increased by 15.70% [NewsWireNGR]

The National Bureau of Statistics, NBS, says the Consumer Price Index, CPI increased by 15.70% year on Year in the month of February.

The Statistician General of the Federation, Dr. Simon Harry disclosed this on Tuesday during the monthly press briefing at the bureau’s headquarters, in Abuja. Read more.

2. Poultry farmers quitting business due to high cost of feeds — PAN [NewsWireNGR]

The Poultry Association of Nigeria (PAN) have said that high cost of feeds is forcing its members out of job.

The association lamented that the rising cost of consumables was dwindling their profit and making many farmers to quit the business.

The Secretary of the Plateau chapter of PAN, Mrs Nanji Gambo, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Jos. Read more.

3. Failed Palace Coup: Buni’s allies retake APC National Secretariat [NewsWireNGR]

Allies of Governor Mai Mala Buni, have reclaimed control of the National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday.

This is following a purported palace coup by opposing factions led by the Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello.

Bello on March 7 arrived at the APC National Working Committee NWC Hall and parked his official vehicle at the designated parking lot of the “National Chairman”. Read more.

4. Court orders Arik Air to pay sacked pilot, 126,500 dollars within 30 days [NewsWireNGR]

The National Industrial Court, has ordered ARIK Air to pay Ratovic Miroslav, a former pilot 126,500 dollars in 30 days.

The court gave the breakdown of the sum as: 57,500 dollars or its naira equivalent as payment of his outstanding salary arrears from Sept. 2016 to March. 2017 at the rate of 11,500 dollars per month and the sum of 34,500 dollars or its naira equivalent as three months salary in lieu of notice.

The court in addition computed 34,500 dollars, being his three months salary in general damages for the wrongful employment termination. Read more.

5. Woman arrested and arraigned for distributing jerrycans of petrol as souvenir at a party [NewsWireNGR]

The woman who distributed jerrycans of petrol as souvenirs at a party held at Havilah Events Centre, Victoria Island on March 4, 2022, has been arrested and arraigned.

Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Adekunle Ajisebutu, said the suspect, Ogbulu Chidinma Pearl, was arraigned on a four-count charge of conduct likely to cause breach of peace, endangering life by distributing combustible matter in a public gathering, intent to do harm to another and unlawfully carrying on the business of storage and containerising petroleum product without permit.
