King Solomon: 700 wives, 300 concubines, but only 3 children — Erigga

Nigerian singer-songwriter and rapper Erhiga Agarivbie, stage name ‘Erriga’ is asking a biblical question. 

He shared his question via his verified Twitter account on Thursday, March 10, 2022. 

The singer asked why King Solomon only had three children after getting married to 300 women and acquiring 700 concubines. 

The tweet reads “King Solomon has 700 wives and 300 concubines but have only 3 children, how and why?”

One Twitter user replied “Them no tell the story finish, he get low sperm count but back in the days women were blamed so baba just dey knack dey marry he no wan agree say na him be the problem” 

“so either the three children are from different men or miracle later happen,main point; he had low sperm count”

A second gave a somewhat logical response. 

He explained King Solomon got involved with that mama women to build diplomatic relations with other nations. 

His tweet reads “there is a theory that suggest he married So many wives from different kingdoms for bilateral trade or diplomatic purpose.” 

“when a king marries a daughter of another nation, it symbolises peace treaty between the two Kingdoms.” 

“this could be another reason why through out Solomon’s regime as king  recorded no war between Israel and other nations.” 

“if his main motive was not marriage for sex, the possibility of him not sleeping with all of them can  be true. or the bible didn’t mention some his children because they are of no significance.”
