Rahama Sadau was born on December 7, 1993. She has three sisters: Zainab Sadau, Fatima Sadau, Aisha Sadau, and her brother, Haruna Sadau. They are all children of Alhaji Ibrahim Sadau, their father.
Her sister Zainab is a pastry chef, while Aisha is a professional make up artist.
At a young age, Rahama Sadahu participated in dancing competitions and continued participating during her years in school.
Education
Rahama Sadau graduated from the school of Business and Finance of Eastern Mediterranean University in Northern Cyprus, with a BSc in Human Resources Management.
Career
Rahama Sadau joined the Nigerian Hausa Language-Cinema (Kannywood) in 2013 with the help of her colleague, Ali Nuhu Mohammed. She rose to prominence shortly after she joined the industry.
She rose to prominence for her role in the movie ‘Gani ga Wane,Jinin Jikina’, Where she co-stared Ali Nuhu.
She was recognized as the Face of Kannywood in 2016.
She faced a ban from Kannywood by Motion Picture Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MOPPAN) on October 13, 2016, for appearing in a romantic music video with Nigerian singer ‘Classic Q’. That ban was later lifted in 2018, one year after she wrote an apology to MOPPAN.
She joined the cast of MTV Shuga, as the ‘Career Teacher’, where her acting career further blossomed.
Rahama won the award for Best Kannywood Actress two years in a row at the City People Entertainment Award in 2014 and 2015. She also won the award for best African Actress at the African Voice Awards for her contribution to Kannywood.
Her notable achievements are the roles she played in ‘Sons of the Caliphate’, ‘Up North’, ‘MTV Shuga’, and ‘If I Am President’.
She is an actress, filmmaker, dancer, and businesswoman.
Rahama Sadau Arrest Rumours
In November of 2020, Rahama Sadau was rumored to have been arrested and sentenced to jail for sharing a photo of herself in a backless gown, which caused social media users to insult her religion, Islam.
She, however, came on Twitter on November 10, 2020, to debunk the rumours in a statement where she announced they are all fake stories.
That tweet reads “I have received many messages that I have been arrested and sentenced to jail earlier today. I have no idea where the news emanated from. I’m therefore calling on people to stop spreading FAKE and unfounded stories”.
