Activist Bisi Alimi withdraws statement warning chefs
Nigerian gay rights activist, Bisi Alimi, has in a recent post warned chefs to stop using basmati rice to cook jollof (a Nigerian rice based dish).
His post reads “stop using basmati to make jollof”.
After his post has gone viral and received a lot of varied reactions, the activist has withdrawn his statement, he announced in a follow-up post.
“When I made my basmati rice post, I was not expecting to start WW3. I now officially withdraw my statement and ask for world peace” he wrote.
