Jimoh Buhari, a personal assistant to the Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, in Lagos State, Musiliu Akinsanya, has confirmed his boss (MC Oluomo) is indeed interested in the stool of the Oba of Oshodi.

Reacting to rumours of MC Oluomo’s aspiration, Buhari said; “He (Oluomo) has not come out publicly to declare his intention for the Oshodi Obaship stool. Perhaps the rumour broke out when he tried to make consultations.

“Secondly, it is normal to have a divided view among families if anyone signifies interest to ascending a stool. Some of the families embraced him, while others didn’t. It is normal.”

Meanwhile, the head of Oshodi-Tapa chieftaincy family, Moroof-Deen Babatunde, has claimed MC Oluomo, is not a member of the family and therefore cannot lay claim to the stool of the Oba of Oshodi.

Speaking, Moroof-Deen Babatunde, said; “Oshodi-Tapa Chieftaincy Family is the owner and controller of Oshodi town in the Oshodi Isolo Local Government Area. We have not endorsed anybody and have not even called for candidature.

“As far as we are concerned, we call it a rumour because Musiliu Akinsanya, aka MC Olumo, who is being rumoured to want to be Oba of Oshodi, is not a member of the Oshodi-Tapa Chieftaincy Family and has no right to the stool of Oshodi town.”
