Billionaire heiress and disc jockey, Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola known as DJ Cuppy has reacted to Kanye West’s claim to be the richest black man in the world.

Florence is the daughter of Femi Otedola, a Nigerian businessman, philanthropist, and former chairman of Forte Oil PLC, an importer of fuel products. Otedola is the founder of Zenon Petroleum and Gas Ltd, and the owner of a number of other businesses across shipping, real estate and finance. He has recently invested in power generation as part of the liberalisation of the sector in Nigeria.

The US rapper, now known as Ye, recently featured on the talk show, “Hollywood Unlocked” where he ranted about being prevented by security operatives from seeing his kids despite being “the richest black man.”

“My daughter wanted me to go inside. I was like, I am the richest black man and North’s father, right, and the security was able to stop me from going into the room with my daughter and that had not been defined,” he said in part.

The “Gelatto” singer reminded the father of four that her godfather, Aliko Dangote is in fact the ‘richest black man.’

“Random, I know… I am a huge @KanyeWest fan. However, with all due respect, I feel the need to remind him that he is not the ‘richest black man’ – it is in fact my Godfather @AlikoDangote. Just clearing the air with #facts,” she wrote.

In August 2015, Cuppy set off on her first DJ tour to 8 countries in Africa, titled “Cuppy Takes Africa”. She visited NigeriaSenegalGhanaKenyaTanzaniaRwandaUganda and South Africa.

The “Cuppy Takes Africa” tour included performances, major artist collaborations, and charitable engagements supported by GTB Bank and the Dangote Foundation. Later that year, she interned at Jay-Z‘s Roc Nation.

In October 2016, the “Cuppy Takes Africa” tour aired on Fox Life Africa as an 8-episode documentary series. In 2016, Cuppy was the resident DJ for MTV2’s Uncommon Sense with Charlamagne Tha God.
