Instagram comedian, Debo Adebayo, popularly known as Mr Macaroni, has blasted security operatives over the invasion of a colleagues residence.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, in the early hours of Wednesday has arrested a skit maker, Sunday Joshua, popularly known on social media as De-General.

The skit maker however recorded a video of the incident. Posting the video, Mr Macaroni on his Twitter page captioned it; “NDLEA!!! OLEEE!!! Barawoooo!!!! So you people’s work is to be entering people’s houses in the middle of the night to be beating and harassing citizens. This is happening right now. We don’t know where they have taken him to. Oppressors everywhere!!!”.

In a follow-up thread, the thespian said; “It breaks my heart to see young Nigerians being brutalized every now and then. No one is saying u shouldn’t do your job. But is damaging properties and beating up suspects a part of your job? Is it? Why do things have to be this way all the time?

“You come into my house in the middle of the night and you expect me not to record what’s happening? Knowing fully well the level of insecurity? If you have nothing to hide, why don’t you want to be recorded? Of course we know why. We can see you brutalizing them in the video.

“One of the videos recorded showed an officer calling one of the suspects “Small Yahoo Boy” So apparently, the suspects are no longer suspects in the eyes of the officers. They have already being tried and convicted by appearance. How is this fair or just?

“Nigerian Police go do their own, EFCC go do, NDLEA go do their own… small time now e fit be Traffic warden wey go come break our door for middle of night to oppress and harass us. Crime: Just be A Nigerian Youth.

“We don’t even see most of the oppression and brutality that Nigerian youths suffer. We see some only because the person is popular or has enough courage to make a video. A lot of Nigerians have suffered greatly for nothing!!!

“Nigerian Youths are really going through a lot”.

Meanwhile, reacting, Femi Babafemi, Director, Media and Advocacy said, ‘Acting on credible intelligence, narcotic officers stormed the drug joint in the estate, where three suspects were arrested with illicit drugs including 200 sachets of 225mg Tramadol and 1.5 kilograms of cannabis sativa.

“In the course of the operation, some persons including the suspected dealer ran away with bags suspected to contain exhibits.

“A trail showed they ran into a house located at 2B Saula Akinlolu way, Orchid estate, which is the residence of 22-year-old Sunday Joshua (aka De General).

“The young men started to make noise to prevent a search. The operatives introduced themselves as officers of NDLEA and submitted themselves for search before entry. This was done and a search was conducted.

“The search led to the recovery of drug exhibits including cannabis sativa; Tramadol 225mg, and some paraphernalia for drug use.

“This was after the suspect had requested to record on video the search, which the officers out of sense of civility allowed.

“The video trending on social media was the moment the suspect and his friends decided to disrupt the bid to conduct a search of the house.

“In his confessional statement in custody, the suspect admitted ownership of the drugs recovered from his house.”
