Super Eagles of Nigeria line-up against the Pharaohs of Egypt revealed

The Super Eagles of Nigeria are set to play their first game in the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon against the Pharaohs of Egypt today at Stade Omnisport Roumde Adjia in Garoua and here’s the line-up and substitute as announced Tuesday.

  1. Maduka Okoye of Sparta Rotterdam football club of Netherlands

The Germany-born goalkeeper has been fantastic for his club since the beginning of the season, and he has also been doing pretty well for the Super Eagles in Camp, he’s expected to start ahead of Daniel Akpeyi, Francis Uzoho and John Noble.

2. Ola Aina of Torino FC of Italy.

Temitayo Olufisayo Olaoluwa Aina is a professional footballer who plays as a wing-back or Right back for Serie Aclub Torino, and the Nigeria national team. He is a versatile Defender.

3. Keneth Omeruo has represented Nigeria at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2013 Confederations Cup in Brazil. Omeruo cemented a place in the starting line-up at the Africa Cup of Nations as it turned into a wonderful tournament for the Super Eagles and they emerged from the tournament victorious.

In 2019 he scored his first goal in the Africa Cup of Nations against Guinea. He was a key part of the Super Eagles team that won the bronze medal in 2019.

4. William Troost of Watford FC of England 

William Paul Troost-Ekong plays as a centre-back for Premier League side Watford and captains the Nigeria national team.

Born in the Netherlands into a mixed Dutch and Nigerian family, he was eligible for both the Netherlands and Nigeria in international football. He made his debut for Nigeria in 2015 and has since earned more than 40 caps. He attended secondary school at Hockerill Anglo-European College in Bishop’s Stortford, near London.
