Ex-Imo deputy gov confirms release of his father by kidnappers
Eze Henry Madumere, an Imo traditional ruler and father of ex-deputy governor, Prince Eze Madumere, has been released by kidnappers five days after his abduction.
The traditional ruler of Achi Mbieri in the Mbaitoli Local Government Area of the state according to a statement by his son’s media aide, Uche Onwuchekwa, was released in the early morning of Wednesday.
He was kidnapped last Friday at Iho in Ikeduru Local Government Area of of the state. His abductors double-crossed his vehicle, shot in the air aimlessly, before whisking him away.
The statement read, “The father of the former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere’s father, HRH, Eze Henry Anoruo Madumere, has regained freedom from his abductors.

“Pa Madumere who is the traditional ruler of Ezi-Mbieri Autonomous Community was released by the kidnappers in the early morning of Wednesday.
“He was, however, taken straight to the hospital for a medical check-up. He arrived at his home town, Achi, Ezi Mbieri Autonomous Community in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo State.
“He was received with a thunderous shouts of joy by his family and subjects.”
