Pa Ayo Adebanjo, leader of the pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, on Thursday, claimed those who do not understand restructuring grew up under the military regime.

Adebanjo who spoke during a state of the nation address held in Lagos said the restructuring of Nigeria can only be achieved by APC, PDP and other political parties.

“I don’t want the country to break up but that want the break of the country are not doing the right thing.

“Those of you who don’t understand restructuring grew up under the military. Restructuring means different things to different people because they don’t understand the philosophy behind it.

“Buhari cannot embark on restructuring of the country alone and that is why I said there be a Government of National Unity consisting of the APC, PDP and other political parties. These are the people that will carry out the restructuring of the country.

“Let it be heard loud and clear, Afenifere shall be leading the Yoruba nation to demand substantial restructuring before any fraudulent elections might be held in 2023 and the response of the Buhari regime to these equitable demands for restructuring the country along federalist lines to restore it to its roots and original agreements shall go a long way in shaping the position of the Yoruba people in the future but let it be heard loud and clear; Nigeria is not only negotiable, it is evidently dying.”
