NEMA issues safety warning over massive pipeline leakage around Computer Village

There was a massive pipeline leakage around Computer Village in Ikeja, Lagos state on Wednesday.

Confirming the incident, the Nigeria National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), urged residents around the area, Computer Village /Underbridge, Awolowo Way and Oba Akran axis, Anifowoshe street and Medical Road to avoid contacts with naked fire.

According to the NEMA Acting Coordinator, Lagos State Territory, Ibrahim Farinloye, the Agency received a distress call Wednesday morning about the incident and has since mobilised its personnel.

Farinloye advised shops and business centres to be under lock and key pending when normalcy will return.

“Residents around Computer Village /Underbridge Awolowo Way and Oba Akran axis, Anifowose Street, Medical Road must not open shops or use open naked fire for safety reasons.

“Distress alerts just received indicate massive leakage of gas pipeline around these areas”.
