Deteriorating security in Anambra, FAAN Cancel flight operations

The Federal Airport Authority, FAAN, and the National Air Transport Authority (NAMA) have canceled the start of flights at Anambra state airport Saturday.

Their explanation for doing so as a result of the deteriorating security situation in Anambra state.

An AirPeace employee told BBC correspondent there that they have been waiting for the right to fly Lagos and Abuja from the FAAN and NAMA departments since morning.

They said Anambra Governor Willie Obiano had promised them that he would try to help get the authority but it had not yet come to fruition.

Two planes carrying passengers from Lagos to Abuja will not be flying to Anambra and will also be carrying passengers from Anambra.
