The apex bank had launched the Central Bank Digital Coin (CBDC) on Monday after postponing its launch from October 1st.

CBN launched two applications, the eNaira Speed Wallet and the eNaira Speed Merchant.

Recall NewsWireNGR had earlier reported that the Application had below average (2.3 stars) review rating on Google Playstore. There were lots of complaints from users while mostly rating it 1 star.

A further check by NewsWireNGR revealed most of the frustrated users were having issues with linking their email to the app; a major requirement to be granted access. Representatives of the CBN were however noticed to be responding to users complaints in the comment section of the review.

Meanwhile, the eNaira Speed Wallet is still available for download on Apple Store and has 2.6/5 ratings with lots of complaints too.

But the eNaira Speed Merchant is still live on the Google Playstore with more than 10,000 downloads.

It is worthy to note that the disappearance of the eNaira app on the Google Playstore does not automatically translate the app was removed by Google (although this is possible). However, the developer of the App, the Central Bank of Nigeria, may have unpublish it for fix the bugs causing complaints raised by users.

On the other hand, a lot of developers instead of unpublishing their app usually release an update to fix issues.
