Lagos LG boss increases street sweepers’ allowance from N10,000 to N20,000

Surulere Local Government of Lagos State has increased the monthly allowance for street sweepers in the area from N10,000 to N20,000.

The Council Chairman, Mr Suleiman Yusuf, announced the 100 per cent increment while addressing the Community Development Council (CDC) general meeting at the council secretariat in Surulere on Tuesday.

“For street sweepers in Surulere, the remuneration for them will be increased by 100 per cent, from N10,000 to N20,000,” the council chairman said.

Yusuf then urged the workers to justify the gesture by performing their duties diligently.

He appealed for the support of Community Development Council (CDC) in the area to enable him to deliver on his campaign promises.

He said with the co-operation of the community associations, stakeholders and residents, his administration would be able to achieve its mission of delivering the dividends of democracy as promised during his campaign.

“I am here to thank you for your immense support and believe in me during the electioneering.

“I reassure you of my commitment to work together with you all as a team for the progress of Surulere,” he said.
