Instagram celebrity, Ramon Abbas, a.k.a Hushpuppi has been scheduled to be “sentenced in late October” according to the United States Attorney’s Office at the Central District of California.

Disclosing the development, the Director of Media Relations, Thom Mrozek, also confirmed the arrest warrant issued against Nigeria’s ‘Super Cop’, Abba Kyari.

“A U.S. Magistrate Judge has issued arrest warrants for the defendants in the case, including Mr Kyari. This is standard operating procedure in nearly all of the criminal cases filed by this office.

“Hushpuppi is currently scheduled to be sentenced in late October,” Mrozek stated.

NewsWireNGR recalls Hushpuppi pleaded guilty in an American federal court, to conspiracy to engage in money laundering, of funds from business email compromise scams and other online heists.

He’ll face up to 20 years in prison at sentencing.

In his plea agreement, Abbas admitted to laundering money from the Malta Bank heist and the BEC attacks on a Premier League club, another UK firm, and an American law firm, as well as additional schemes.

Abbas’s plea agreement, which involved crimes allegedly perpetrated by North Korean state sponsored hackers, was heavily redacted, and many of the filings in the case remain sealed.

About a year ago, the Dubai Police had arrested Hushpuppi, and ten others in an operation tagged ‘Fox Hunt’.

The suspects were accused of “committing crimes outside the UAE, including money-laundering, cyber fraud, hacking, criminal impersonating, scamming individuals, banking fraud and identity theft,” the Dubai Police said. They were eventually extradited to the United States.
