Why Davido suspended aide, Israel DMW

Nigerian artiste and owner of DMW Record Label, David Adedeji Adeleke, stage name “Davido” has reportedly suspended his aide, Israel Afeara (a.k.a Israel DMW), over comments on Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Abba Kyari.

Kyari has in the last few days been under social media attacks following a bribe allegation by an Instagram influencer, Ramon Olorunwa Abbas popularly known as “Ray Hushpuppi”.

Hushpuppi is currently facing charges including cyberfraud and money laundering in the United States. A press statement by the United States Department of Justice indicted DCP Abba Kyari to have been bribed by Hushpuppi to arrest a co-conspirator, Kelly Chibuzo Vincent.

According to the statement, Kyari allegedly sent a Nigerian bank account details into which Abbas could deposit payment for Vincent’s arrest and imprisonment.

Defending Kyari, Israel DMW on his Instagram page posted, “I’m fully standing with Abba Kyari. The man is a clean cop. He has fully tried and is still trying in aspects of fighting wild armed robbers and kidnappers.

”Kindly show me who’s a saint in this country,”

According to reports, the post did not settle well with the DMW Record Label management, thus the suspension of Israel.

“He is on suspension because of the things he says on social media which always involves his boss because of the tag ‘Davido’s aide’. He has been asked not to come around or hang out with Davido. However, Isreal has promised to change,” a report quoted an anonymous source.

At the time of filing, there is no official statement from Davido or the DMW management to confirm or dispute the suspension rumour.

This is however coming few days after Israel blasted people for saying he worships Davido despite the DMW boss being younger than him.

In a reaction post, he had said; “You people should always insult your superior bosses at your working place. Tell them they are mad, tell them you‘re senior to them by age.

“I will worship my own ooh. I know where am coming from. Make Ogun kill una talking rubbish.”

Recall Israel had in February 2021 made controversial allegations when the news of a feud between DJ Cuppy and Zlatan stormed the internet.

Zlatan during an interview on Soundcity’s ‘TheSwitch’ show, denied knowing who Cuppy is. This is despite both celebrities having a song together titled ‘Gelato’.

The singer’s comment was few weeks after Cuppy lamented she was blocked by the rapper on all social media platforms.

Israel while commenting on the matter hinted at why the rapper may have denied knowing Cuppy on TV. According to him, Zlatan never profited from the deals he had with her.

“Kudos to someone like Zlatan, who took a bold step, by flushing out a full fake friend like Cuppy, who was just using his head, all in his name of ‘my papa na Otedola.

“Zlatan did a hit collabo with her, ordinary one kobo, e no see. She also took Zlatan to Abuja, for her fundraising, where she made billions of Naira, and didn’t even remember Z for one Kobo till tomorrow. No accommodation, no feeding. Zlatan had to even spend his own money at Transcorp Hilton, to [cater] for everyone including me. This na 2021 abeg.”

However in response, Cuppy “For the record, there have been no breaches of my contractual agreement regarding the song #Gelato as confirmed by lawyer. However, as @IsrealDMW publicly inaccurately declared I owe an artist money, I am suing him for libel and defamation! See you in court Isreal.”

Israel however made a video apology to DJ Cuppy, which was circulated across social media.

In a post dated March 19, 2021 (10:07am), DJ Cuppy decided to accept his apology and drop the lawsuit.
