Katsina gets N6.25bn from Buhari for cattle ranch development

The Katsina state government has received the sum of N6.5 billion from President Muhammadu Buhari to begin the development of cattle ranches in the state. 

The state governor, Aminu Masari, disclosed this on Thursday while speaking at an occasion President Buhari commissioned the multibillion Naira Zobe water project and a 50-kilometre road project in Dutsima, Katsina State. 

He added that the President promised the state a total of N6.5billion for the project. 

“Mr President has graciously approved the sum of N6.25 billion for ranch development purposes in Katsina state.

“Out of this amount, 5 billion is already in the account of the state government and within a few weeks, you will see advertisements calling for interested companies and consultants that would wish to participate. 

“This is the first direct intervention through the state government with regard to the Federal Government’s ranch development initiative,” Masari said. 

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has urged members of the National Assembly to pass the National Water Resources Bill before them. 

He claimed that the passage of the bill would improve the availability of potable water and promote personal hygiene and sanitation. 

Buhari also called on various state governments to collaborate with the federal government in ensuring that people have access to potable water.
