A member of Nigeria’s House of Representatives Hon. Sergius Ogun says the process that will ensure the country’s Senate President, Ahmad Lawan is impeached has started.

The lawmaker representing Esan North-East/Esan South-East Federal Constituency, said this on Monday while being interviewed on Arise News Television.

According to Ogun, the move to impeach the senate president was because of his disagreement with the 17 southern governors in their call to restructure Nigeria.

The House of Rep member said Lawan’s criticism of only a section of the governors of the country showed that the number three citizen, Ahmad Lawan is not fit to occupy the position of the senate president.

“We don’t need people that express their bias in that way and manner. This number three figure they call them have a way of deceiving them. How can a leader at a time like this, who should be bringing people together be speaking like that? We don’t need people like that. I think he should go and i’m sure the process has started”. he said.

Recall that Senate President Ahmed Lawan had warned elected officials, including state governors against calling for the restructuring of the country.

Lawan who gave the warning in Abuja last week Thursday, while speaking to journalists, said he was not against those calling for restructuring but elected officials must not be among those advocating for such calls.
