Just in: Terrorists abduct students of Government science school in Niger State

Some unidentified gunmen, a terrorists group have abducted students and staff of Government Science Secondary School, Kagara, headquarters of Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State.

NewsWireNGR gathered from sources in Niger State, that the gunmen invaded the school around 3am on Wednesday.

A student who tried to escape the kidnapping was reportedly shot dead and there are no clear numbers of the people abducted.

Confirming the incident, Shehu Sani, a former Senator said the school was his alma mater and he had spoken with the principal of the school.

This latest abduction follows a worrying spate of rising insecurity across the country.

About 21 passengers heading to Minna, the Niger State capital were abducted in broad daylight on Sunday.

Before now, students of Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, Katsina State, Government Girls’ Science and Technical College, Dapchi Yobe State, and Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State, are some of the schools where gunmen have abducted students in the past.
