Sunday Igboho’s supporters raise N4.85million in hours

Supporters of Yoruba grassroot mobiliser and Oduduwa activist, Sunday Adeyemo better known as Sunday Igboho have raised N4.85 million (£9,360) in support of his campaign.

Sunday Igboho while speaking at a virtual meeting with Yoruba in Diaspora on Tuesday had pleaded with his supporters to provide funding to purchase buses for his campaign against Fulanis living in Yorubaland.

The GoFundMe fundraiser was initiated on Wednesday by Maureen Badejo, who resides in Luton, England.

In 17 hours since the launch of the support, the supporters already raised N4.85 million (£9,360) out of a GoFundMe target of N51.8 million (£100,000) as at the time of filling this report.

About 261 people had made the donation as of the time of the report.

Recall that Igboho, an Oduduwa republic activist has been at the centre of the tension in the southwest ever since he accused the Fulani residents in Igangan, a town in Ibarapa local government area, Oyo State as being responsible for the kidnappings and insurgency in the area. He then issued them a quit notice to Fulani residents.

He also stormed Ogun State on Monday to enforce the same.
