Police parade Niger Republic citizens who supply arms to bandits in Katsina, Zamfara

The Katsina State Police Command on Monday paraded a Niger Republic national, Haruna Yusuf and his two sons for banditry and arms dealing.

Yusuf, 47 and his two sons, Ibrahim Salisu, 20, and Shuaibu Haruna, 18 were arrested at their resident in Muduru village in Mani Local Government Area of Katsina.

The police alleged that Yusuf led a syndicate that supplies arms from Niger Republic to bandits in Zamfara and Katsina.

The state Commissioner of police Sanusi Buba said Yusuf confessed to the allegation and revealed that he has sold over 10,000 arms.

Buba said, “He confessed to have sold over 10,000 arms and ammunition to bandits in the forest.

“Furthermore, Haruna Adamu and Auwal Abubakar confessed to have severally (sic) trafficked these arms and ammunition to bandits at Gurbi and Dan-Magaji areas in Zamfara State.”
