Breaking: Armed gunmen attack Emir’s Convoy, kill three policemen, five others

Bandits have attacked the convoy of the Emir of Kaura Namoda, HRH Sanusi Muhammad Asha, killing three policemen and five others.

The Zamfara State Commissioner of Police, Usman Nagogo confirmed the incident which happened in Funtua, Katsina State, to Channels Television on Friday.

He, however, declined to comment further on the attack.

Earlier today, Governor Matawalle of Zamfara state said abducted school boys in Katsina were not taken by Boko Haram, instead, the abduction was carried out by Fulani gunmen.

He said that in their negotiations, they had resolved some of the problems that they were facing and promised to resolve them.

Among the Fulani’s grievances are the killing of their cattle and the abuse they accuse of being vigilantes.

And he said he was ready to continue such reconciliation efforts to secure the country, and anyone who refused would face the wrath of the authorities, Matawalle said.
