Winner of the last United States presidential election, Joe Biden has been confirmed as the next president of the country as the Electoral College formalized his victory over incumbent president, Donald Trump.

At the Electoral college, Biden won a solid majority of 306 electoral votes to Trump’s 232. The same figure that Trump branded landslide when he won the last election.

Biden coasted to victory after California cast its 55 votes that pushed him to the threshold of 270 Electoral College votes needed to win the presidency.

The election has put an end to Trump’s claims of over six weeks that the initial general election where he lost by about seven million votes was marred by fraud.

Trump is yet to react to the Electoral College votes but while the votes were ongoing, he tweeted that the November 3rd election was fraudulent, ” WOW. This report shows massive fraud. Election changing result!”

Reacting to the victory, Biden tweeted “Today, the members of the Electoral College cast their votes for president and vice president.

And once again, the rule of law, our Constitution, and the will of the people have prevailed.

Our democracy—pushed, tested, and threatened—proved to be resilient, true, and strong.”
