The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has declared the election exercise from Bakura constituency, in Zamfara as inconclusive.

Professor Ibrahim Magawatta, the returning officer of the constituency, said that results from the 14 polling units were cancelled because of over voting.

He said that the two major contenders, APC and PDP scored 16,464 and 18,645 respectively, having a difference of 2,181.

He said that the cancellation of the 14 Polling Units affected 11,429 voters, which is higher than the margin announced and so declared the election inconclusive.

He also said that the results at some polling units were null because of ballot box snatching, violence, assault on INEC officials and burning of election materials by thugs.

And there were claims and counter accusations of rigging and bullying between former state governor, Abdulaziz Yari (APC) and Bello Matawalle, the governor of the state who is a member of the PDP.

Meanwhile, INEC will brief the media on the next line of action.
