Just In: Imo State House of Assembly Speaker is impeached

The Speaker of Imo state House of Assembly, Mr Chiji Collins has been impeached by the Imo State House of Assembly.

The Speaker was impeached today, Friday over allegations of financial impropriety, high handedness, gross misconduct among others.

The motion to impeach the speaker was supported by 19 of the 27 house members.

The impeached Speaker is tentatively replaced by Mr Paul Emeziem of Oniomo Local Government Area.
