First private university in Cross River gets full accreditation from NUC

The first private university in Cross River State, Arthur Jarvis University, Akpabuyo, has gotten 100% accreditation for programs offered in the institution.

The institution that just got g full statutory license to operate as a tertiary institution in Nigeria said that the accreditation came after a recently conducted NUC accreditation of the school in preparation for its first convocation.

Speaking to journalists at the school’s campus, the Vice-chancellor of the university, Prof. Ani Nkang said the institution has not looked back since inception and that the result can be seen in both students and the university community.

“Arthur Jarvis University was granted provisional license to operate as a tertiary institution and academic activities commenced in March 2017 with a total of 15 programs spread out in ten departments and two faculties; Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences and Faculty of Humanities, Management, and Social Sciences. Today the university has five faculties, with forty-four degree programs.

Prof. Nkang added that “We were amongst the universities whose provisional licenses were reviewed in 2019. It is my pleasure to announce in this august press conference that Arthur Jarvis University met all qualifications and has been issued with a full statutory license.

The vice-chancellor added that the “university continues to boast of affordable tuition, excellent student-teacher ratio in the classes, and good hostel accommodation.” He said.

Programs that got accreditation includes; Accounting, Banking and Finance, Business Administration, Marketing, economics, English, Applied Geo-physics, Biology, Bio-Chemistry, Chemistry, Computer Science, Microbiology, and Physics with Political Science and  Geology getting provisional accreditation.
