The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on Tuesday, asked politicians interested in contesting the 2023 general elections to work hard because he would not allow electoral malpractices.

He asked those who may be planning to use their offices or security agencies to subvert the will of the people to have a rethink because he would not allow them to have their way.

Buhari handed down the warning while receiving top government officials at his official residence inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja, to commemorate his 77th birthday.

Meanwhile, Aisha Buhari, wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, sent out adulation to her husband as he marks his 77th birthday.

The first lady took to her social media page in the early hours of Tuesday to pen a heartfelt message to her husband but this time she referred to him as “GMB” — General Muhammadu Buhari – instead of “PMB”, President Muhammadu Buhari

“Happy Birthday to MY incorruptible GMB. I wish you Allah’s Guidance Protection and Good Health to continue steering the affairs of our dear nation. Long Live GMB Long Live Federal Republic of Nigeria,” .
