Bauchi Governor Orders Release of Arrested Blogger

Yesterday, news broke that a blogger who was opposed to the Bauchi State government was arrested for ‘Cyber Stalking’. Good news is that the Governor of Bauchi State who just returned from a business trip to China has ordered his immediate release.

According to Governor Mohammed Abubakar’s verified Twitter handle; after reading the reports of the blogger’s alleged offences, he ordered his immediate release. This is because as a lawyer, he believes in freedom of speech.

The Nigerian chairman of the Human Rights committee has confirmed that Musa Azare has indeed been freed on the orders of the Governor. We will keep you informed as further developments unfold.
