In Kaduna, El-rufai’s Demolition Notice Kills 62-Year-Old Widow

A widow, 62, fell into unconsciousness and eventually died shortly after a notice of demolition of her house located at Gbagyi villa in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State was served on her, reports reads.

Although the widow, late Mrs Mary Audu was said to have been hypertensive before her death, the notice of the demolition of her house among about 3000 other houses marked for demolition in the area aggravated her situation, leading to her death.

The eldest son of the deceased, Simon Audu who narrated the situation to our correspondent when he visited their house at number 4 Yakowa close, gbagyi villa described the death of their mother as most unfortunate and painful.

According to him, “although our mother had high blood pressure, we had been managing the situation until when the 21-day-notice of demolition of our house among other houses was served on her, then she, all of a sudden, slumped into unconsciousness and died shortly.”
