Just In: Senate Suspends Plenary To Thursday, As The Wait Goes For Embattled Amaechi

The Upper chamber of the Nigerian legislature, the Senate has suspended its scheduled plenary for Wednesday, instead to Thursday, after it screened two ministerial nominees on Tuesday.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Senate had adjourned plenary till Wednesday to continue the Screening of the Ministerial nominees. Senator Dino Melaye addressed newsmen, where he stated that, the screening exercise was billed to continue on Wednesday.

The Senate, earlier today, had screened two ministerial nominees from Oyo and Yobe States – Mr Adebayo Shittu and Mrs Khadija Abba Ibrahim.

Hours after the plenary of Tuesday had ended, the Acting Clerk of the Senate, Nelson Oyewo, told reporters that the Senate had decided to reconvene on Thursday, October 22, cancelling the earlier date of Wednesday.

The wait still goes on for former Rivers State governor and ministerial nominee, as his protracted screening still stalls.
