Breaking: Court Stops Saraki’s Trial Over Alleged False Declaration Of Assets

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, Thursday, aborted plans by the Code of Conduct Bureau, CCB, to dock the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki before the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, today on a 13-count charge bothering on corruption and false declaration of assets.

Vanguard Newspaper reports that in a chamber ruling he delivered Thurday, Justice Ahmed Mohammed, summoned the ?Federal Ministry of Justice, Chairman of the CCB, Mr. Sam Saba and that of the CCT, Justice Danladi Umar, to appear before the court on September 21, to show cause why Saraki should be prosecuted over the allegations that were levelled against him in the charge.

Equally summoned to appear before the court was the deputy director in the office of the Attorney General of the Federation, Mr. M.S. Hassan, who signed the charge against Saraki.
