“I Became A Bus Conductor After Dropping Out Of JS 2” – Benue Governor, Samuel Ortom

The 63rd Annual convention of the Redeemed Christian Church of God ended last Sunday August 9th after a 7days powerful retreat in the presence of God. As expected the much awaited convention drew the attention of millions of people across the world….Saying the redemption camp harbors different people from all walks of life is like stating the obvious. Ranging from anointed men of God, to political bigwigs, socialites, business personnel, students and the list goes endless.

The daily activities comprises of praise and worship session, prayers, choir ministration, offerings, benediction and testimonies. One of which includes the life changing testimony of His excellency, Gov Samuel Ortom, the executive Governor of Benue State.

Although, the testimony session had ended at the time his excellency made his way into the redemption camp, but due to his life changing testimony that he would love to share with the youths and those who have lost hope, he specially requested for his time and he was honored.

Chief Samuel Ortom started by giving Glory to God for who he has become today, despite his inability to further his education at form 2, as against his wish, he became the number one citizen of his state through hardwork, determination and not giving up.

In his words” My name is Samuel Ortom,i dropped out of school in form 2, but today I am a PhD holder, immediately after I dropped out of school because I did not have the privilege of being sponsored to school by my parents, I became a bus conductor, and then later a taxi driver and ended up in Gboko park as a taxi driver running Gboko-Mkar route but this did not stop me of the quest I have for education but rather helped him to garner resources.
