Ship Sinks With 450 Passengers Onboard In China

A passenger ship carrying more than 450 people sank overnight in the Yangtze River during a cyclone in southern China on Tuesday.

Twelve people have been rescued so far, but strong winds and rain were hampering rescue efforts, gathered AFP.

The boat was heading to Chongqing from Nanjing when it sank at Hubei province.

The ship’s captain and chief engineer, who were both rescued, said the ship sank quickly after being caught in a cyclone.

The ship had 405 Chinese passengers, five travel agency employees and 47 crew members on board.
