Breaking: INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Wife, 2 Children Die In ‘Strange’ Fire In Kano

Kano Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Abdullahi Mukaila, has died in a fire outbreak alongside his wife and two children.

Mr. Mikaila, oversaw last Saturday’s presidential and national assembly election in the state that delivered more than a million votes to All Progressives Congress candidate Muhammadu Buhari.

The fire broke out at his Nasarawa area residence in the early hours of today, he was killed along with two of his siblings.

The state spokesman for INEC, Garba Lawal Muhammed confirmed the incidence.

The cause of the fire outbreak has not been identified as at the time of filing in this report.

The late INEC REC hailed from Jigawa state.

An eyewitness, Idi Ali told newsmen that efforts by good Samaritans to broke into the building to rescued him and his family failed as they could not gain entrance into the building.
