NNPC Releases 1,500 Trucks Of Kerosene To The Nigerian Public

Mr Ikenna Okpani, the Media Officer of the Port Harcourt Refining Petroleum Company Ltd., on Wednesday said that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) released 1,500 trucks of kerosene to the public.

According to the News Agency Of Nigeria Okpani said this at the inauguration of the “Kero-Correct’’ campaign in Calabar.

Okpani, who is the Team Leader of the Kero-Correct campaign in Cross River, said the campaign was to ensure that kerosene was sold to consumers at the government regulated price of N50 per litre.

“We have released approximately 1,500 trucks at the rate of 40,000 litres per truck for the purpose of this campaign, which will last for three months.

“This 1,500 trucks of kerosene would be distributed to the 37 NNPC mega stations, 12 floating mega stations and 524 NNPC affiliate stations nationwide over the period of three months,’’ he said.

“We have discovered over time that a lot of Nigerians are not getting this product at the approved price.

“The Federal Government, through the NNPC, has decided to bring this product to consumers all over the country,” Okpani said.

He said the team was mandated to enforce the regulations that would ensure availability of the product to every consumer.

“Consumers are to queue for the products at every station but they are also restricted from buying above 25 litres of the products at a time.

“Anyone who prefers to buy additional number of litres beyond the first 25 litres will have to go to the queue again after the first purchase.

“This development is to check against racketeering and to ensure that the product gets to everyone,’’ he said.
