Humanitarian Maryam Augie Set To Wed Kano Lawmaker

Humanitarian Lawyer, Maryam Augie is set to tie the knot with her heartthrob. The founder of AyahayFoundation, a non-profit inspired by the tragic deaths of her close friends will Monday be saying YES!!! in Kebbi State.

She will be marrying the House of Representatives member, Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin representing Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency of Kano State .

A short SMS was sent out to friends and associates of the politician intimating them of the ceremony reads thus; “With gratitude to almighty Allah, I am glad to inform you of my upcoming wedding to Maryam Adamu Augie which is scheduled to take place on Monday, November 24, 2014 at the Emir’s Palace Argungu, Kebbi State by 12.00 noon.

“The wedding reception will take place the following Sunday, December 1, 2014 at Harrow Park Golf Club, CBD Abuja by by 7.00pm. Please accept this notification as an invitation as I look forward to your attendance, prayers and support.”

Maryam is the daughter to Justice Amina Augie and Late Senator Baba Augie who died in a car crash in 2001.

Maryam is the Executive Director, AyahayFoundation , an NGO focused on certain key areas that are crucial to sustainable development: healthcare, education, women empowerment and child development. Maryam has undertaken and completed projects in Abuja, Kaduna, Kano, and Kebbi with her foundation.

She has and still empowering women in some communities in Kebbi by providing them with grinding machines for business; built boreholes; distributed bathroom slippers to street children; renovated a skill acquisition centre.

The foundation also has a national scholarship programme for children between the age of eight and 15 with four children currently in the programme.

It is double celebration for elegant Maryam as she is getting married on her birthday. Maryam is one of the 15 women of vision unveiled recently by Folake Coker of the famous Tiffany Amber label.
