Police Arrest Suspected Kidnappers Of Diezani’s Sister

The police in Rivers State have said they have arrested two persons suspected to be the kidnappers of Osiya Agama, sister of the Minister of Petroleum, Diezani Alison-Madueke.

Agama was abducted by unknown gunmen on Tuesday, October 21 about 8pm at the Leventis Bus Stop area of Aba Road, Port Harcourt.

At the time of the incident, the police denied any knowledge of a link between Agama and the petroleum minister. The police however recovered the vehicle she was driving in before her abduction.

In a statement issued in Port Harcourt on Monday, the police said they have arrested her abductors in the water front area of the metropolis.

The statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ahmad Muhammad (DSP), said: “The Rivers State Police Command wishes to inform members of the public of the arrest of notorious kidnappers that the command has been trailing for some time.
“They are Benjamin Bob Manuel, he was arrested around Nembe waterfront on 09/11/2014 at about 1920 hours. He is the leader of the gang that abducted Osiya Agama, the sister of Diezani Alison-Madueke, sometime in October.

“His accomplice, Whokows Ekine, was also picked up today (yesterday) in Port Harcourt and one locally made pistol and their operation vehicle, a Toyota Highlander, were recovered from him.

“They all confessed to the abduction of Osiya Agama.” He said the state police command was still on the trail of other accomplices involved in the crime.
