2015: President Jonathan To Declare November 11

President Goodluck Jonathan will officially declare his intention to seek a re-election at the 2015 elections on November 11.

The President had on Thursday made known his intention to run for a second term to Governors under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) at the Aso Rock villa. He also set up a declaration committee headed by Dr. Haliru Bello

At the inaugural meeting of the committee  held on Friday inside the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, the decision was made that the President should declare on November 11 barring any last minute hitch

Bello told journalists after the meeting that the committee members had settled for November 11 and that the venue for the declaration will be chosen at the next meeting of the committee

“The President gave us the task to organise the modality of creating a platform for him to meet Nigerians and announce his response to the various calls for him to come out and declare his interest in the presidential election.

“The President has not said anything yet but it is like all Nigerians have called on him. It is our hope that he will come out and say ‘yes’ to the demand of multitude of Nigerians.

“On November 11, there will be a forum for the President to meet Nigerians to announce his decision. The venue is yet to be decided. That will be decided at our next meeting.” Bello said

President Jonathan is the sole Presidential aspirant of the PDP having been endorsed by the National Working Committee of the party.
