Fintiri May Be Impeached As Speaker,Served With Impeachment Notice

Former Acting Governor of Adamawa state, Alhaji Ahmadu Fintiri has been served with an impeachment notice as the speaker of the House of Assembly.

17 of the 25 members of the Adamawa state House of Assembly are believed to be part of the plot to remove Fintiri who recently returned to the house as its speaker after being sacked by the Federal High court.

The lawmakers are allegedly aggrieved because Fintiri reneged on the agreement held prior to the impeachment of the former state Governor, Murtala Nyako.

Also, the members are of the opinion that Fintiri can no longer be trusted after his brief stint as Governor of the state.
Another ground for impeachment is the fact that Fintiri and Ngillari come from the same town.

Eve though he returned to the House as speaker, Fintiri filed a suit on Thursday at the Court of Appeal in Abuja, asking the court to upturn the decision of Justice Adeniyi Ademola.

if the impeachment plots succeed, Fintiri may find himself as a simple floor member of the House.
