Ebonyi PDP Endorse Health Minister Prof Chukwu As Consensus Candidate

The Ebonyi state chapter of the People’s Democratic Party has endorsed the Minister of Health, Prof Onyebuchi Chukwu as its consensus governorship candidate for the 2015 elections.

Chukwu was chosen at a s stakeholders meeting which was presided over by Governor Martins Elechi at the Government House in Abakaliki.

The Vanguard gathered that the emergence of Chukwu was as a result of the zoning of the governorship to the Enugu south senatorial district and specifically Afikpo Local government, from which Chukwu hails from.

The meeting was attended by law makers, stakeholders and youth leaders across the 13 local government areas of the State.

Governor Elechi  was quoted to have said

“Ebonyi is a poor young state that is strong and there is no need for wasteful campaigns; we believe that our decision is a good one; we strongly believe in God.

“The message will go round; there is room for divergent views but ultimately we believe in consensus”.
