BREAKING: Federal College Of Education Kano Attacked By Insurgents, Scores Killed

The violent Islamic sect, Boko Haram, has attacked the Federal College of Education in Kano.

Sources say the attackers arrived the school with explosives and followed this up with gun attacks on Wednesday afternoon as the students fled in different directions to escape from the explosions.

It could not be ascertained how many had been killed in the school, which is not far away from Bayero University in the same city.

Early report from Kano says the insurgents attacked the college of education around 3.20pm. Another source said the gunmen blew up the school, killing many students and shooting fleeing survivors who tried to escape. The eyewitness accounts say more than 30 students have been confirmed killed.

The police have not confirmed the latest terror attack.

The spokesperson for the military Joint Task Force, Ikechukwu Eze, confirmed the attack. Mr. Eze said government troops have arrived at the school.
