Former Military Head of State, General Muhamadu Buhari has taken his campaign outside the shores of Nigeria in an attempt to have the endorsement and support of Nigerians in the Diaspora.
According to a source who spoke with THISDAY, the retired General had done massive consultation within the APC ranks in the country and has now moved his sampaign to Nigerian abroad.
“Buhari is still engaged in consultations across the country and beyond. He had gone outside the country to further meet with stakeholders in the Nigerian project to elicit their support. It is after he has concluded the consultations that he will make a formal declaration,” he said.
Buhari who hails from the same geo-political zone as Governor Rabiu Kwakwaso had sometimes ago rebuffed attempts to make him step aside from the presidential race but has forged ahead with his plan. Efforts by the leaders of the zone to get a consensus candidate from the two aspirants have so far yielded little result though it is still expected that a consensus candidate will eventually emerged from the zone.
