Senator Muhammad Jibrillah Bindow last night emerged the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Party (APC) in the October 11 by-election in Adamawa State
Declaring the outcome of the party’s primary last night, the Chairman of the electoral committee of the party, Dr Garba Abari, who announced the breakdown of the results, declared that 6,232 voters were accredited while 42 votes were declared invalid.
Out of the 6,190 valid votes cast, Abari said Bindow scored 2,718 to beat his closest opponent, Alhaji Ibrahim Mijinyawa Yayaji, who polled 2,268 votes to emerge second in the race.
He stated that Boss Mustapha scored 515 votes to clinch the third position, followed by Senator Ahmed Barata, who scored 452 votes, while Chief Yakubu Tsala scored 187 votes and Mr. Emmanuel Bello scored 50 votes.
Senator Bindow will contest the October 11 Bye-election against Acting Governor Umaru Fintiri of the Peoples Democratic Party.
