A female suicide bomber blew herself up today at Kano Polytechnic.
The incident occurred as students queued up to check an admissions list, according to BBC Africa.
Eyewitness account say ” explosion hits an institution in the city of Kano, northern Nigeria. It happened as students gathered to check their names on a list.”
No actual report as to the casualty figure as at the time of filing this report but many are feared dead. Dreaded Boko Haram Islamist are now using women as suicide bombers in Northern Nigeria.
Fears grow after a 16-year-old blew herself killing a soldier and injuring police officers in the state.
Bodies lay strewn at the blast site, witnesses told the BBC. The bomber was hidden in the crowd, a witness, Isyaku Adamu, told the AFP news agency. The BBC’s Yusuf Ibrahim Yakasai in Kano says police have not yet confirmed the blast.
The number of people killed or wounded is still unclear.
