Kano State Government denies reports that a new Emir to succeed the late Ado Bayero has been announced.
The Senior Special Assistant on Media, to Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, Jaafar Jaafar, told PREMIUM TIMES Sunday afteenoon that Mr. Kwankwaso was yet to make the announcement.
“Contrary to recent media reports that the new Emir of Kano has been announced, the Governor of Kano State is yet to make such an announcement according to Mr. Jaafar said.
We had reported earlier than the son of the late emir, Sunusi Ado-Bayero, had been selected even as our reports clearly pointed out that an official announcement is yet to be made public.
Mr. Bayero reported to have been crowned Emir is considered a frontline contender for the position, as is a former governor of the Central Bank, Lamido Sanusi.
