Alhaji Sanusi Ado Bayero is the new Emir of Kano. Born on April 1st 1956, Sanusi Ado Bayero, 58, is the first son of late Emir of Kano, Alhaji Dr. Ado Abdullahi Bayero who died on Friday June 6th in Kano after a long illness at the age of 83. The new Emir holds a degree in Law from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
Sanusi Lamido, was at the last minute dropped by the king makers even as chieftains of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in kano lobbied for the emergence of former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, as the new Emir of Kano.
The four members of the kingmaker council selected their nominees for the consideration of the governor last night but according to reports, “the governor asked them to go back and return with a single consensus candidate”.
He said the kingmakers returned with the named of Sunusi Bayero as their choice. But an official announcement is yet to be made public according to sources.
