Security has been beefed up in Ado-Ekiti ahead of Saturday’s visit of President Goodluck Jonathan to Ekiti State.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the entire Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, venue of the campaign rally for the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for the governorship election in Ekiti State on June 21, Mr. ayo Fayose, now wears a new look in readiness for the visit.
Also, scores of musicians and actors contracted for the exercise were seen mounting their instruments.
The PDP secretariat, located along Ikere-Ekiti road has been adorned with billboards and posters of both the President and Fayose,
Fayose’s campaign office on Adebayo road and the Spotless Hotel are now beehives of activities as hundreds of party faithful were seen trooping in and out.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Victor Babayemi, told NAN that the command was on top of the security situation.
He said the security beef-up would include combing all areas where the President is expected to visit and the stadium.
The PPRO also said anti-terrorism experts as well as bomb specialists had been deployed to ensure adequate security.
